Welsh Overland Safari meets Natural Mid Wales
Earlier this week Welsh Overland Safari took members of Natural Mid Wales on a tour of Mid Wales and the Brecon Beacons. Natural Mid Wales is a group of likeminded tourism businesses with an interest in promoting and preserving the biodiversity and natural beauty of the local area, more information can be found here www.naturalmidwales.com. Richard is not only a member of this association, he’s the chairman! So after promising to take members on a tour for some time – this week it happened!
Richard started the tour by taking the group of half a dozen to the Prince Llewelyn monument in Cilmeri as he gave background and explained the last steps of the last native Prince of Wales, in this Visit Wales year of Myth and Legends!
Then it was up onto the Epynt and a after a stop to take in the amazing views, it was across to the town of Talgarth, where the group stopped for lunch at the award winning Talgarth Mill, which featured in a BBC restoration series a few years ago and has really brought some vibrancy back to the town!
Following a stop at Tretower Castle the final stop on the tour was at the tallest waterfall in Wales and the scene of the batcave for the epic Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises – the epic Henrhyd Falls!
“A most enjoyable day packed full with wonderful scenery, fascinating history and stories about myths, legends and people told by our guide Richard - a superb storyteller who made it all come alive with anecdotes and humour. The mill in Talgarth and the castle and house in Tretower are a 'must visit'. Highly recommended” – Natural Mid Wales member on TripAdvisor
Then on Thursday night Richard gave a talk on Myths and Legends at a Brecon Beacons Tourism networking event. The event was well attended and the presentation went down a storm! No rest heading into the weekend as he was out on another tour on Friday!
