Richard take on his biggest tour to date!

Saturday 24th February 2018 Richard embarked on his biggest tour to date.....

Hereford Camera and walking club in association with photo corner at the Inn booked Richard to take them on the central beacons tour to experience the Brecon Beacons and waterfall country and take the opportunity to practice their photography skills.

A group of near 30 booked onto the tour, Richard only normally caters for up to 8 guests on his luxury mini bus however after pulling some strings another mini bus was sourced and a couple of cars also followed.

The tour started at the canal basin in Brecon, from there the group headed to the first stop at Myn Lyea standing stone. On route Richard entertained the group telling tales of Welsh folk law whilst negotiating the Welsh countryside including the Devils elbow!

After taking in the the sun shine at Myn Lyea, some great photo opportunities and another tale or two from Richard, we headed for waterfall country!

Before embarking on the waterfalls the group stopped for a quick warm drink at the New Inn in Ystradfellte and catching a glimpse of a hunt just leaving the group made the short trip to the start of the waterfall walk.

Before Richard led the group on the walk he led them to the largest cave opening in Europe to take in the view (and some more pictures of course)!

Then it was onto the waterfalls, the highlight being Sgwd y Eira, the fall of snow where the guests had the chance to walk behind the waterfalls and take some stunning pictures from all angles.

After taking in the waterfalls and plenty of walking it was back to the bus and back to Brecon, but the picture opportunities were not over there - there was still chance to get up close and personal to some wild ponies on the common as the sun started to set at the end of the day.

One of the guests Judith posted on TripAdvisor "Superb visit to the Water falls at Ystradfellte. Richard from Overland Safari entertained us all with historical tales and information on the locality. More importantly he looked after our large group of photographers so well. He ensured that a diverse group was able to access this area giving everyone the confidence to undertake some challenging terrain.The scenery was stunning and the route provided great opportunity for diverse photographic captures. Walking boots are a must for this activity and at this time of year it goes without saying that it is necessary to wear layers of warm clothing. A wonderful day made all the more special thanks to the winter sunshine however I suspect Richard would ensure you had a wonderful time regardless of the weather."

"It was great to take a group of like minded walkers and photographers on a tour of waterfall county. Although the group was far bigger than a group we've taken out before, I think everyone enjoyed it and there have been plenty of amazing pictures flying around facebook already and I'm sure more will follow. Hopefully the group will be keen for another tour later in the year" Richard added.
